USM Retains Title In Perodua Eco-challenge 2010
Defending
champion University Sains Malaysia (USM) beat six other participants in
the auto category of Perodua Eco-Challenge 2010 to retain the title they
had won last year.
USM recorded 37.2km in auto category at the
Malacca International Motorsports Circuit here.
winners took home
RM20,000 each, a gold medal and trophy respectively while the second
and third place winners received RM10,000 and RM5,000 respectively and
certificates.
usm also get 3rd place, the engineering, design and
participants category and took home RM3,000 and a certificate.
Perodua
Eco-Challenge is an annual competition held by Perodua to give students
from higher learning institutions a platform to showcase their talent
to furthering enhance the efficiency of a Perodua Viva with one litre
RON 95 petrol and the car that can go furthest will win the race.
Twelve
participants in both auto and manual category were given a viva car and
RM10,000 development fund.
Last year, the competition used the
Myvi model and changed to Viva due to fuel efficiency
