Sharing of Product Design and Prototype Development by the School of Arts
On 30 April 2025, a knowledge sharing session by the School of Arts was held at MEK 1, School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). This program aimed to provide exposure to students about the design and prototype development process by lecturers from the School of Arts.
The session began with a sharing from Pn Noor Azlina Binti Mohamed Khalid, who shared about the School of Arts' experience in winning the James Dyson Award. After that, the session continued with an in-depth discussion on the Design Process, which included three main parts:
The first part, 'Ideation & Idea Development' conducted by Pn Noor Azlina Binti Mohamed Khalid, provided guidance on the process of generating ideas for product design.
Next, the '3D Modelling & Technical Drawing' session conducted by En Ts. Hafeezur Rahmaan Bin Mohd Yassin shared about important techniques in three-dimensional design modeling and technical drawing.
The last part was conducted by Mr. Aliff Ikrami Bin Mutti who shared about 'Prototyping & Finishing'. This session gave students ideas about the process of developing prototypes and product completion.
It is hoped that this sharing session can be continued in the future to benefit students taking design courses.
