The School of Mechanical Engineering was incepted in 1989. Over a short period of 30 years, today the School of Mechanical Engineering is among the best engineering School in Malaysia as well as among the top ranked globally for its academic programmes and research activities. This rapid progress is a testimony of our commitment to high quality education and research that are current and relevant to the challenges faced by the society and the industry.

The School Mechanical Engineering offers two fully accredited undergraduate programmes, namely Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering with Management. The intake is open to local pre-university students as well as international students. We also offer study at Master and Doctorate (PhD) level, both by full research mode. We are proud of our more than 3000 alumni who are now contributing significantly to the country and making their distinctive marks and leadership in their respective fields either in the private or government sector, spanning local and multi-national establishments.
