On Friday, 25 November 2022, an industrial talk has been presented by Mr. Chew Soon Jin on Refrigeration for Industry. Mr. Chew is the technical director of NRS Process Systems and also currently serving as the chair of Refrigeration Section in Americal Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Malaysia Chapter (MASHRAE). This talk covers the industrial refrigeration used in many industries, including food processing, chemical, pharmaceutical and plastics manufacturing. It is also highlighted the benefits and challenges of using natural and new low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants. The talk, which has been attended by students of EME 431 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, gives good insights on the applications of refrigerant for industrial usages.
