ECOTORQUE TEAM FROM PPKM WINS THIRD PLACE AT IGNITE 2025
NIBONG TEBAL, 15 October 2025 – A group of five final-year students from the School of Mechanical Engineering (PPKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) brought pride to the university by securing third place (3rd Prize) in the IGNITE 2025 competition, held recently at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The team, known as EcoTorque, presented an innovative project titled: “SMART TESTING SYSTEM: Design and Development of a Brake Lever Actuator and Throttle Signal Manipulation System for Automated Drive Cycle Testing of Electric Two-Wheelers.”
The project focuses on developing an automated testing system for electric two-wheelers, enabling driving tests to be conducted more consistently, accurately, and efficiently — in line with the nation’s efforts toward green technology and sustainable mobility.
The EcoTorque team consists of five talented students:
- Tan Shau Heng
- Foo Zhen Yi
- Muhammad Danish Arfan bin Abdl Ghani
- Balqis Nadeera binti Zahari
