INDUSTRY 4.0 AND IoT: PROFESSIONAL TALK
NIBONG TEBAL, PULAU PINANG, 23 0CTOBER 2019 - In the wake of Industry 4.0, Malaysia government is spearheading with its policy to kickstart and accelerate industries towards the next level of technology adaptation. In this light, an Industry 4.0 and IOT: professional talk was held on 23 October 2019 at Dewan Kuliah 3 with the primary aim to build bridges between academicians, technology providers, manufacturers and students to disseminate latest development in Industry 4.0 and IoT in terms of technologies, applications, and future career implications. The School of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia has the honour to invite three key industry speakers to share different aspects of industry 4.0 and IoT to audience based on years of business experiences in machine and system automation, power and component industry and integrated building construction. The first speaker is Mr. Chew Huat Seng, Managing Director of Hitachi Asia (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia, with the presentation topic on “Learn from Pro in Tackling IR4.0”. The second speaker, Mr. Tan Meng Hoo, Managing Director of QC Scientific (M) Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia. His talk focuses on on automation in Industry 4.0 – Malaysian Perspective. Finally, the third speaker, Mr. Lim Yew Kee, Chairman of IET Internet of Things Network, United Kingdom captured audiences with his presentation on application of IoT in built environment. More than 300 people attended the talk, including students, academics and industry representatives. The organizing committee members are Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Chin Jeng Feng, Dr. Ramdziah Md. Nasir, Ir. Dr. Yen Kin Sam, Dr. Reza Mahmoodian, Ms.Hasnah Hassan, Mr. Roslan Kamarudin and Mr. Muhamad Azman Miskam. Co-organizing partners include Division of Industry and Community Network (BJIM) and IET Internet of Things Network, United Kingdom, which is also the sponsor of the talk.
