USM Lean Team Leads Successful Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification Training at Bangkok Hospital, Hat Yai, Thailand

29 -31st January 2024 - In a landmark collaboration, the Lean Team from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recently conducted a highly successful Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification training at Bangkok Hospital Hat Yai (BHH) in collaboration with the Dean and lecturers from Department of Industrial Engineering, Prince of Songkhla University (PSU). The intensive 3-day program showcased the dedication of all three institutions to advancing healthcare processes through Lean knowledge and methodologies.

Under the expert guidance of the USM Lean Team, 18 participants from BHH, emerged as certified Lean Six Sigma White Belt professionals. The program encompassed conquering 6 modules, demonstrating the participants' commitment and enthusiasm. The collaboration between USM, PSU and BHH emphasized a joint commitment to advancing industrial engineering knowledge within the healthcare sector. The Lean Team from USM consist of Ir Dr Nur Amalina, Dr Hasnida dan Ms Anis Masturina with the support of Dean, Assoc Prof. Dr Jamaluddin Abdullah brought their academic expertise in enhancing the depth and quality of the training.

With the successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification, these healthcare professionals from BHH are now equipped to address inefficiencies, drive process improvements, mentor colleagues, and emerge as effective team leaders within the hospital setting. They will now continue to apply the knowledges by conducting Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) projects with the guidance from PSU team.
