  1. Instron 3367 is a servoscrew machine capable of testing materials up to 30 kN.
  2. The frequency of the machine is 1 Hz.
  3. The machine allows loads application in sequential blocks.

Instron 8874

  1. Instron 8874 is a servohydraulic biaxial machine with applicable load of ±25 kN.
  2. The maximum frequency of the machine is 30 Hz.
  3. The machine allows cyclic tensile, compressive load uniaxially and biaxially.
  4. Torque ±100 Nm.
  5. Load angle range ±125º

Shimadzu AGX V2

  1. Shimadzu AGX is a servoscrew with load cells of 10kN and 500N for tensile/compression testing.
  2. Thermal Oven with temperature range of -70ºC up to 280ºC.
  3. Fracture Toughness test based on ASTM 399E.
  4. Testing frequency at 1 Hz typically.

  1. The UTM Gunt is a manually screw driven testing machine with a capable load of 20kN.
  2. It is most suitable for testing tensile and compressive materials within the load given.

High Strain Rate Test Machines

Compressive SHPB

  1. Compression SHPB based on LN2 gas.
  2. Strain rate of 8000 s-1.
  3. DAQ at 50k data per second.

Tensile & Compressive SHPB

  1. Tensile SHPB based on compressed pump air at 8 bars max.
  2. Able to produce strain rate at 1400 s-1.
  3. DAQ at 20k data per second.

  1. The torsion machine for room temperature.
  2. Load range of 5kg.

  2. Postgraduate Mechanical Engineering students should contact the Lab Mgr for access to the services and facilities.
  3. Other than ME undergraduate and postgraduate students must contact the Lab Mgr for access to the services and facilities.
  4. External customers must contact the Lab Mgr for access to the services and facilities.
  5. Payment should be made upon submission of the samples.
  6. Modes of payment includes purchase order, bank draft, cheque or cash deposit to be made payable to USAINS BIOMIC LABORATORY TESTING SERVICES SDN. BHD.
