USM AND JAPAN’S JET CORPORATION FORGE PARTNERSHIP ON ENVIRONMENTAL RECYCLING SYSTEM

NIBONG TEBAL, 28 October 2025 - Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) took another step forward in fostering international collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and JET Corporation, Japan, held at the USM Engineering Campus today.

The partnership focuses on the Environmental Recycling System with Ammonia Gas Recovery project, marking a cross-disciplinary collaboration between USM’s School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Aerospace Engineering, and School of Chemical Engineering. Attended by Dean of three engineering schools, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Aziz Saad (Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elmi Abu Bakar (Dean of School of Aerospace Engineering), Prof. Ir. Dr. Zainal Ahmad (Dean of School of Chemical Engineering), this collaboration signifies more than a formal agreement as it represents a shared commitment to advancing academic-industry partnerships within the framework of public universities.
